An Architectural Dialogue Between Past and Future
This April, LAB Piree opened its doors as part of Open House Athens 2025, inviting guests into a spatial narrative where architecture is an experience.
Nestled inside a former harbor machine shop, LAB Piree welcomed hundreds of visitors into its living laboratory of design. The raw bones of the space—wood, concrete, metal, and glass—were left unapologetically exposed, celebrating the material honesty that defines our ethos. From scaffolding used as display structure to untouched textures that whispered stories of labor and transformation, every element was in dialogue with both the building’s industrial past and its ever-evolving future.
Guests moved through a space that resists stillness: from the central workspace to its visible electrical networks, the building pulsed with the energy of making, unmaking, and reimagining. It was less a tour, more an immersion—into a world where the unfinished is beautiful, and architecture becomes a platform for curiosity, experimentation, and expression.
As always, LAB Piree stood not just as a showroom, but as a proposition: that spaces can evolve without forgetting where they came from. That design can be an open conversation. And that architecture, at its most vital, invites us not just to look—but to feel, question, and dream.
Thank you to everyone who stepped inside.
