The rooms of the chamber are an essential addition to the hospitality scene of Piraeus. The team at Lab Piree Super Studio designed the chamber with respect for the building’s architecture, striving to keep the structural integrity of the building intact and allowing the patina of time on the facade to narrate the building’s history and references. A building from the early last century that housed the homes of dockworkers and later was transformed into an industrial space. Emphasis was placed on preserving the authentic characteristics, including an intricate wooden staircase from the early last century that leads you on a journey back in time, the hidden flooring of the space, such as wood and authentic mosaics, the stone walls, and the wooden frames.

The furniture references both urban and rural residences, sometimes raw and sometimes modified to give a new approach and aesthetic to the already existing and established. The modern decor with partitions separates the bedroom space from the rest. The items in the space are modified to fit into a landscape that exudes all the austerity and mystery that the port of Piraeus emits.

The murals and paintings are by the visual artist Anna Dimitriou, and their theme is inspired by the life of the port.

The interior spaces of the chamber function as a continuous gallery, including artworks scattered throughout all corners, inviting visitors to engage in constant interaction with art. Simultaneously, they operate as a sales exhibition space, offering items from artists and collections of Lab Piree for sale, creating a unique shopping experience.

Beneath the shell of the building, right below the chamber, lies the universe that extends into a concept store combining a café, a restaurant, a gallery, and an inner courtyard. This multifunctional courtyard transforms according to the season and occasion, from a summer cinema to an event space, offering a dynamic area for various activities and gatherings.

In this way, the chamber is not just a place to stay but a living market of art and culture, where visitors can experience the rich heritage of Piraeus, get inspired by contemporary creations, and enjoy unique culinary and aesthetic experiences.
